The other evening I was sat in a residential street, seated in the passenger side of the car, waiting for K who was collecting PC games from inside a neighbouring house.
When sitting/waiting inside a vehicle, I tend not to have the interior light on. It makes me feel as though I’m in a goldfish bowl and in full-view of every passer-by. So, there I was, merrily staring into space, minding my own business and waiting patiently for K’s return, when a group of teenage girls walked by the car door.
As they passed, the glow from the screens of the mobile phones caught my eye and I turned my head to look in their direction. At which point the girl closest to car let out an almighty shriek, followed by:
Scared Girl: “Oh my god!! There’s someone in that car!“
SG’s Friend: “Whaaa??“
Scared Girl: “I didn’t know there’s was anyone in that car, then they just moved!! Oh my god! She looked like the girl out of [the movie] The Grudge!!”
Admitedly, I do have long black hair that has a tendency to fall across my face, I suppose it was very dark and I was only lit partially by a nearby street lamp, but The Grudge??
Wow…Don’t I feel pretty…

The girl from The Grudge
Then again…Maybe with that lighting, I did…Maybe…Just a little… Afterall, this was me during my college days…
