Today, I am preparing for tomorrow. Tomorrow I will (hopefully) return to my roots and go back to being blonde (pun intended).
Having been born a natural blonde and spent most of my childhood with it grown down to my waist (and sometimes longer), I’ve always been rather bemused with people’s preoccupation with my hair; how lovely it was, how lucky I was, how long did it take to wash/dry etc etc… And later, their abject horror at my dying it a multitude of colours and cutting it to my shoulders throughout my mid-teens to early twenties.
You’d think I’d have committed some horrendous crime against humanity to see some reactions. I never really understood the value of my natural colour, although I have since noticed the difference it makes. I am really starting to suspect that people [read: strangers] really do seem to respond/react different depending upon hair colour. Maybe its fluke, I’m not sure…but I’m viewing tomorrow as the beginning of a little experiment…
To mark the beginning of my “acid test”, or rather mark the end of my raven-haired era, a self-portrait:

A full-time wheelchair user since 1998, Claire lives in an adapted bungalow in England with her Partner of 10 years and their two dogs:

Wow. I don’t know you, but I certainly wouldn’t ever have guessed you were a natural blonde. Brunette clearly suits you. I’m a natural brunette, perhaps I should go blonde??
Yes, I am indeed a natural blonde (the galleries give evidence of my blonde-ness from baby to teen
)
I cheat a bit — I always pencil over my eyebrows with an appropriately-shaded make-up pencil to match my current dyed-colour — that way it looks more natural. When I don’t, you can see that I have blonde eyebrows and it looks really odd. :roll:
If you go blonde, I want ‘before’ and ‘after’ pics
People do respond differently to hair color. I can tell you my blonde cousin, despite being not nearly as nice as me, is often the one people run to for a friend. Which blows because I love people. Sometimes.
So, yeah, anyways, you would be hot bald, so it doesn’t matter what you’d do. If you wanted to die your hair black with blue spots, I’d be all for it!
As for that whole bald comment I just made…yeah, please don’t shave your head.
Well, it is black, just not with the blue spots…and I have no intention of shaving my head
Blonde again? That sounds like a tribute act for Madonna.
Have you transformed yet? (I thought, when I snooped round your nipper pics, that you’re darker now than back then). It sounds like it could be a revealing social experiment: it’ll be interesting to see if people treat you any differently as a blonde. Report your findings!
“Anything suits a pretty face”, my granny says. I think you’ll very probably look great whatever you do to your hair.
Lol, my hair has darkened a bit as I’ve gotten older, but what you see in the galleries are the works of L’Oreal, Clairol, Herbal Essences and Jerome Russell.
I’ll make sure to report my findings and post photos ASAP!
