Today’s entry originally began life as a voice-post that I recorded on friday.
However, upon playing all 12+ minutes of the Fan-Girl induced drivel back to myself this morning, I thought I’d spare the world having to spend in excess of 10–20 minutes of download time (or even longer, if you’re on dial-up) just to hear me bang on about the load of old pony I’d bought from eBay, the allure of Prince’s chest hair and how much I hate the smell of stale fags.
Instead, I will now take this opportunity to show off my latest delivery of MOO:
“Moo“

For those of that are unaware, MOO is a London-based printing firm that prints miniature Calling Cards using images directly sourced from your Flickr photostream. Originally, 10,000 packs of ten MOO cards were given away free to those that posessed “Pro” accounts at Flickr.
Clever-me missed that particular promotion, but still managed to get free delivery for my pack of 100. I didn’t have a hundred different images that were up to scratch, so picked out a decent twenty and had 5 of each made up. I love them, they’re so cute. I have no idea what I’m going to do with them or who I think I’m going to give them to, but I just had to have them.
They come in a little white plastic box with a lid (which can be recycled, as can the cards) and the cards comprise of really decent satin finish card-stock from sustainable forests, so I don’t even feel bad for “wasting resources” on my impulse buy.
A couple of the images came out darker than the originals, but on the whole, I’m really pleased with the print quality, I’ll just keep in mind to PhotoShop a few of the shots to compensate, should I ever want to place another order. (Which, should be in about the year 2028, seeings as I’ve got 100 of the bastard things and no bugger to hand them out to!)
Has anyone else been tempted to get their dose of MOO yet?

YES! Oh heavens yes. I checked them out just the other day and went as far as choosing all my photos and adjusting the cropping, but sadly I am not really in a place to spend money on little card thingys that I wouldn’t know what to do with if I had them. I adore the idea though. If I had an expendable income I would totally get some.
Only a couple of days ago I first read about these on Jyoti Mishra’s site (he of ‘Your Woman’ fame, but there’s much more to him than that). Here’s his post: http://www.bzangygroink.co.uk/wordpress/archives/2006/10/06/moo-cards/

See? Everyone thinks they’re adorable and can’t resist getting a set
(though I chose not to get my buddy icon on mine, so that I could fit more text on
)

If you should happen to notice me when you’re out jogging, (I’m the fat geek with the big honka) I’d be very happy to accept one. LOL
Meanwhile good luck with the rest.
Cheers,
Glen.
Admittedly, I’m more blogger than jogger
but I’ll be sure to keep you in mind
I was suckered in by Moo shortly before I left. It was so cheap and they looked so good. They were really nice…but I’ll never use them.
Maybe just buy a glass frame and stick them all down and hang them up in the living room? Hmmm interesting idea. I might just pick random addresses and send them out too… damn I’m good!

Preciate that
Cheers

I’ve seen those Moo cards, I might just get a few of my own printed up — just so I can stick them up on my wall! It’s a really nice way of printing up your favourites for easy viewing.
