I don’t normally do memes and blog trends, but I saw this over at 0ddness and thought it would be a great way to cheer myself up.
You basically just post a song of your choice and I chose If Eye Was Ur Girlfriend by Prince .
If Eye Was Ur Girlfriend is one of my all time favourite Prince songs and one of the many highlights of the Sign O’ The Times album. According to myth and legend, the song refers to the close bond peculiar to female friends and sees Prince craving that same level of intimacy with a love interest. I know, I know, I promise that I’ll stop gushing over P and start posting “proper” very soon, I could just do with a little “pick me up”.
Judging by the hair in this live clip, the date is circa 1999/2000 (and he was known as
back then). This isn’t my all-time favourite performance of this song (I prefer the performance from the Sign O’ The Times film, but I couldn’t find that on the net) but on the plus side, this clip has some delicious close-ups and The Floofy Hair™.
Enjoy.

Ooh, that’s a great performance! He has amazing stage presence. Yay for floofy hair!
Alyssa:
Doesn’t he?
He’s on-stage persona(e) is/are so huge (so much so that you don’t even notice his [lack of] height
) that it’s always such a big shock when you see him “off-stage” during interviews when he “shrinks” back into his shell and is so softly spoken and shy.
The Prettyman ROCKS the Floofy Hair. [Exhibit #1, #2 & #3].
His chest hair doesn’t look real to me. To be honest, I don’t know what you see in him.
GB: Welcome Mr. B, so good to have you.
I thought that it first too, no doubt yours is much more impressive.
Horses, courses and all that. Personally, it’s all in that [chest] hair.
He’s good, and i don’t usually say this bout that type of music, but i really do like his songs.
Chris:
Hi Chris, I have to agree, I don’t tend to listen to many Funk/RnB/Soul etc artists (and the ones I do like don’t tend to be current artists), but I love so much of Prince’s back-catalogue.
