I recently made a promise to myself that I would cut down on the Prince mentions in my blog for fear of boring you all to death. Well, that promise has just been blown out of the water my friends.
His Royal Purpleness announced at a recent press conference that he would be bringing his eagerly anticipated Earth Tour to London this summer for a historic 21 nights.
The first dates to go public are 7 nights at the new o2 arena. For those of you that haven’t cottoned-on, this means that Prince Formerly Known As The Artist will be doing his purple thing at The White Elephant Formerly Known As The Millennium Dome. You couldn’t make it up if you tried. Tickets go on general sale tomorrow morning, but I managed to snag priority tickets that went on sale this morning. Because you know, I’m that hardcore.
I never thought that this day would come; that Prince would tour outside the US again. When plans were made for his residency in Las Vegas last year, I assumed that 3121 Club would be the venue in which he’d see out his “retirement”. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t thing that Prince would ever give up music, I would always like to think that as long as that man has breath in his body, he’ll be creating in one form or another.
At the same time, I accepted that the sheer volume of his work rate over the past 3 decades would no doubt be taking its toll on him at this stage in his life/career and that at 22, I’d simply “missed the boat” in many ways, having not even been alive when the first strains of Purple Rain reverberated abound in popular conciousness. Perhaps it was time to let the fans come to him after having spent countless months, years travelling from continent to continent to the home towns of his most impassioned supporters?
At any rate, in true Prince style he’s decided to change his tune yet again and will be gracing us Brits with his presence. Reminiscent of the arrangement during the US Musicology tour, ticket prices will also include a brand new CD!
This post nowhere near describes how I feel, the words have dried up and been replaced with happy tears.
One more thing before I leave, Thanks Mum x.

Knowing how much this means to you, I’m so, so SO chuffed for you — I’m typing this with a big grin on my face!
Who knows, maybe the book I ordered you may actually arrive before the concert? Then again, probably not. *sob* (I SO tried to get you something you’d love for you b’day — and three fucking months later, we’re still waiting. :()
Anyway, ENJOY!
V xx
Vixx: Oh don’t, I’ve been getting teary-eyed all day, you’ll start me off again.
This post doesn’t even scratch the surface of the total meltdown that I’ve been going through all week — I’ve been on Diazepam since Sunday

I’m sure the book will turn up and when it does, I promise I’ll cherish it to pieces
I remember Prince…or The Artist formerly known as Prince. LOL
He has ONE song I actually like. ONE!!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the concert!
Oooh, yay! I’m so happy and excited for you! You definitely deserve it, girl!
P.S. I wish I could hop a plane to London and go along with you.
Jenny:
Which one? Let me guess… Purple Rain… ??

Alyssa:
Me too!
I’m sure you’ll have him back in the States soon — I doubt he’ll stay here too long.
Wew 21 eh. Too bad he didn’t spread it around all of Europe.
Yeah, considering that he’s not been over this side of the “pond” for quite some time, it’s a shame that many Europeans won’t get a chance to fly over to London to see him.
