I have tried writing this post about six times, every time I sit here to write there is always something else I should be doing.
This Bank Holiday Weekend has been a complete washout, the weather has been dire — we seem to have had the entirety of April’s showers in the space of one May weekend.
And, even the bloody Boxing got cancelled, umpteen Saturday evening hours of The Big Fight Live totally written out and replaced with a load of old bollocks. Gutted. It should have been a fairly interesting fight too as the main fight involved Matey (his name escapes me) who beat Audley Harrison in February, would’ve been good to see if his win was down to luck or judgement. Boxing is about the only sport I can actively watch that doesn’t result in me wanting to pour sesame seeds under my eyelids.
I am almost, but not quite, up to date with my coursework. I managed to catch up on 2 weeks worth of photography and had plans to do the odd shoot or two in Epping Forest, but the weather’s seen to that and no doubt it’s pretty bogged by now. I’ve also caught up on 3 weeks worth of work on my writing course (thanks to the writing journal that I’d kept from my first time around).
I am trying to make a point of writing every day, be it in my journal or through blogging. I desperately want it to become second nature so that I can start to then write constructively, possibly even to the point where I actually finish something. I don’t think that I feel comfortable writing at “novel” length, I intend to stick to “sudden fiction/short shorts” until I can master the art of actually finishing what I write.
I’m convinced that there’s a story in my journal that is just waiting desperately to be written, but I can’t seem to organise my thoughts and the journal fragments into something more solid and coherent. I just have the odd scene, the odd scrap of a character, a particular mood or turn of phrase, but no conflict or sense of plot yet. But I know it’s there, I just have to find it.
Wish me luck.

Cheer up! At least your roads don’t move about when it’s raining…and (apparently) you don’t have a car that turns into a mobile pond at the sight of rain..

Yes, it’s wet. Yes, it’s not conducive to grinning and outdoor enjoyment..but it’s definetly british weather. From what I can hear sat here, the birds are enjoying themselves..
I feel I’ve caught up on my outstanding “tasks” now..We’ve had a load of stuff onm at work, but I’ve been beta testing our new workplace VPN so I can run any PC in the building from my laptop..and I’ve done all the maintenance bar 4 reinstalls I need to do for now. Shame I now feel at a bit of a loose end…
That’s what Vacuuming and housework is for though..filling a gap.

Very true and fortunately, we’re not having the sort of downpour that results in flooding
Ah yes, good ol’ English Summer rain, it wouldn’t be a Bank Holiday without it
My, my, Jem has got you well trained!
Psh. She wishes.
I was in the cubs/scouts for years, and I have a stupid amount of badges for things like that. I even bleached the loo and dusted the skirting board!
I cleaned the oven the other week as well..heh.
I just tend to get very restless when I’m stuck inside all day, and this weather has done that. School’s out this week, so I’m going to be all over the place keeping myself occupied!

Bloody hell, could I borrow you for a weekend?
You can borrow the steam cleaner if you like? It does the job almost as well, and has a long reach lance.
Be warned, if you aim it down the loo and fire, it becomes a low level stage fog…
I’ve even washed up again today. Hah. Modern man? You can keep it.
