Today, we were supposed to get our nice, new, shiny car back and it be all, nice, new, shiny and fixed (after its little incident).
Instead, we’re stuck with a courtesy car that my wheelchair doesn’t fit into because they tried to give our car back after having only done half the work. The bloke that picked our car up initially (and noted the damage) has made a monumental cock-up and listed half the damage as “previous” damage, as opposed to “accident” damage, even though it’s stark-raving obvious that it was all part of the accident damage. Now the garage are saying we might have to make another insurance claim.
Er, no. We told our insurers about all of the damage, so therefore our claim covers all of the damage, it’s the garage that’s cocked-up and got it wrong, not us or our insurers.
Looks like we’re in for a bit of argy-bargy on the phone this afternoon then, hey-ho. Why can’t anything be simple?
Speaking of cars… Have you ever fancied owning a rather fantabulous piece of Claire.NU memorabilia?
How about the unique, one-off custom modified Toyota Yaris (as seen on the front cover of Fast Car Magazine June 2005) which I later photographed and featured in one of my PhotoFriday submissions (the car that is, not the magazine):
Or, the gorgeous, “moira” purple BMW M3 that inspired this cake:
You have?
Well then today is your lucky day as both are ON SALE NOW! My sister’s boyfriend, Chris, is selling both cars and has asked me to list details of them here on my site for added exposure. So, if you fancy owning a nifty custom Yaris or a soft-top, individual option BMW, have a gander below…

My mum went to back to her car a few weeks ago, where she had parked it in a non clamping proper parking space, only to find another parked car had got bored waiting for its owner and had rolled down the hill and only got stopped by my mum’s car being in the way. Turned out it was a teenager who had never been taught that if you park your car on a hill not only do you apply the handbrake you leave the damn thing in gear too
So yet again mother’s car has been into the garage to have dents undented and paint resprayed.
Hopefully this little story will make you feel slightly better.
I do like the BMW, would your brother trade it for a W reg Fiesta called Winston
For five minutes, I seriously considered the Beemer; we’re planning to buy one later this year. But I no want an automatic. Boo.
V xx
Imo: Your poor mum, what rotten luck!
He said he was going to say no, until he found out it was called Winston, now he said that he’ll consider it!
Vixx:
Aww, Boo indeed!
It can be used as a “semi” as well as fully automatic… is that still no good?
Why don’t you like automatics? Is it just a personal preference thing? (We have one ‘cuz K only has an automatic license)
What is a semi automatic ‘is confused’
Ohh and Winston’s only got 31,000 on the clock — bargin
Imo:
It just means you can drive it normally as a fully automatic car, or choose to use the gears by knocking the gearstick up and down through them manually, but there’s no clutch to worry about (which means the gear changing is a lot smoother than in a manual).
*SO* not a petrol head, but I can appreciate how a car looks, and both are very purdy…
Will slap a pic and link of each on my blog for you too, see if any of the “local” readers are interested. Hell, even further afield
But yay your photography
Dan:
I want to give you a more involved answer than “‘cos I just don’t like ‘em” … but I can’t. Sorry. I just don’t!
Plus three-doors is no good with Mini-Vixx.

p.s. Hello!
but then it is an open-top. I just envisigned throwing the three mini Imo’s in over the back
The problem is my left foot would still think there was a clutch and carry on trying to press a pedal that wasn’t there — or even worse slamming onto the brake instead
