For weeks and weeks now (ever since the most recent series of Top Gear started) I have had search engine logs to the tune of “What did Jeremy Clarkson find on the Internet?” come up on my stats.
Clearly, people wanted to know the answer to this burning question and then came here and were duly disappointed when I failed to provide an answer because all they got was a long, driveling post with me wittering on about books and my childhood and shit.
Sorry about that. I do apologise for you disappointment.
To make amends, I went to the trouble of finding out the answer for you.
It turns out that during the ‘news’ section of one particular episode of Top Gear, Jeremy mentions that he found a particular image on the internet and then shows it on the screen. The Beeb fuzzes it out because the photo is rather rude for telly, but TV viewers can clearly hear/see the amused response of the studio audience.
According to various sources, I can declare that the information you’ve been searching frantically for, is as follows:
The photo was of a man with his, ahem, Gentlemen’s appendage inserted into the exhaust pipe of a Range Rover.
There. So now you know.
Don’t say I never do anything for you.

Hehe.
I now feel so enlightened.
Ah but the thing is… Clarkson did this in every one of the news sections in the 6 episodes of the series. It was a running joke throughout the series.
And by the reaction of the co-presenters each time, I’m pretty sure that the picture was different each week. I seem to recall comments such as “uuugghhh these are getting worse and worse”.
So what about the other 5?
I’m with James — I think that it changes each week.
And he must’ve REALLY loved his Range Rover.
V xx
James and V: True, true.
However, the only “confirmed” material is “Mr. Range Rover” — all I can find for the rest are rumours (Mr. Stabby, Clarkson in his swim shorts etc
)
How did you find that one out? Lots of Google digging?
Jem:
Yeah, forum posts and the like from people that were apparently in the studio audience etc.
It was definately different every week judging by James and Richard’s reactions.
