  • OMG. Not many mods make my stomach turn, but nip piercing is one of ‘em! Yay for you and your bravery though.

I completely agree about breathing out when you experience pain. It was the only way I could manage my gallstone pain whilst waiting for the drugs to kick in …

Ouch. Really ouch. I knew someone who got their nipple pierced, they said it was the worse pain they’d ever experienced. Though it was a bloke, and I can see how it would be more painful for them.

But apart from that it does make me think of equality and the way things are. Guys can show theirs off, women are supposed not to.

Vixx: I totally understand why you’re squeamish — changing the dressings have been a bit of stomach-churner for me — I’m ok with most things, but my one big weakness is blood; this is one of the only piercings I’ve had that’s bled after the initial procedure. :dies:

:nods: The only people that have seen the piercings so far are: me, K and Mark-the-Piercer.

I have photos, but have been wrangling with myself over what to do in terms of my own personal, self-imposed “online boundaries”. No doubt I’ll probably share them on the online body modification communities that I am part of, but it doesn’t feel “right” posting them here or to Flickr, where they seem “out of context” and almost inappropriate, in some way. :???:

Is that just me being overly sensitive to perceived social norms and what is “acceptable”? :|

  • OMG! Congrats! Nipple piercings are amazing! I have a pair, I love them! :D Is it true, that women have to be careful about changing from loops to barbells? My piercer says it’s not impossible but can be painful. haha! :D I’m really glad you got them to feel more “complete” and not because they look cool, because that’s what I think piercings should be all about! :) Though getting pierced in itself is quite addictive, don’t you think!?

Oh, one last thing, the breathing exercises! I’m exactly the same! haha! Although, I think I may have quite a high pain threshold too! XD

(Oh yes, side note: The RPA and I didn’t work out, it just wasn’t comfortable for me for many reasons. Just thought you might like to know! :P XD)

  • Chris: Not sure how true the ring/barbell thing is — mine were pierced horizontally and I’ve worn barbells in them from the start. (I have no intention of wearing rings — the piercings heal better with barbells and I love the look of shields and you need barbells in order to wear shields.)

Though getting pierced in itself is quite addictive, don’t you think!?

:nods: I completely agree — I think it’s the rush — at least it is for me ;D

Sorry to hear the RPA didn’t work out, are you going to get anything to replace it? (Ampallang or frenum, or something?)
