The Bit Where There Was Ziggy…

If you’ve been following me on Twitter, you may have noticed that there’s been a lot of kerfuffle over a certain Greyhound. Yes, that’s right, we’re officially Greyhound-approved Doggy-Mummies. How Exciting!

I give you the latest addition to our family:

Ziggy The Greyhound

This is Ziggy.

We brought him home yesterday after adopting him from the Retired Greyhound Trust.

He is an Irish-bred Greyhound that was intended to race (both his ears are tattooed and he racing name was “Moss Ted”). However, he and his near-identical litter brother failed to chase and so never made the grade. He is 2 years old and the precise details of his bloodline can be seen on Ziggy’s Greyhound Data page.

He is a black dog with a white chest, white toes and a white tip to his tail. He loves Weetabix, following K like a shadow and his favourite toy is his “Boofle”.

You can keep up to date with The Adventures of Ziggy over on Flickr — I’ll be adding photos with Ziggy’s commentary throughout the coming weeks.

And yes, he plays guitar.

  • Aww! As I said on Twitter, he’s gorgeous! I’ve always loved Greyhounds and sight hounds in general. And I love the name Ziggy. :D

Does he play it left-handed? ;)

  • Ohhhhh loooook he’s lovely. I hope he will be very happy with his new family :jumps:

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dog tucked up like that before :swoon:

  • Alyssa:

    Does he play it left-handed?

    Left-pawed :giggle:

Imo: Thank you — I hope he will be happy with us too — He’s settling in like a champ and has taken to K like velcro to a fuzzy sock. He’s such a cutie-pie and his bed is his most favourite place — and we don’t pose him with his teddies — he cuddles up with them all of his own accord; it’s adorable. :swoon:

  • Saw the photos ages ago but forgot to comment :( Gorgeous dog! I used to work in the gambling industry so I know how often greyhounds get forgotten about “after their prime” — good to see you giving one a home — and in return it will provide you with lots of special moments!
